When most people think of Home security systems they think a jarring alarm, a little window sticker and police around the corner but is that all they do? Today’s security alarms are suited for so much morecheck out the cool features we found some providers offering
Carbon Monoxide – If you’ve ever been worried about this silent killer in your home you may want to think about getting an alarm. New models have detection abilities that rival dedicated Carbon Monoxide alarms and the fire department can be alerted even while you sleep.
Elderly Safety – Some new alarms come with electronic sensors that elderly adults can wear around the house. In case of a fall, the homeowner simply pushes a button, speaks to the operator and has an ambulance sent out.
Wireless Alarms – If the thought of forgetting to set your alarm has stopped you from getting one you may consider that many new models are wireless. This means you can have a key-fob for your car and even activate your alarm from your mobile phone. Now that’s progress!

A safe home is always on the mind of homeowners. What makes a good home security system can vary tremendously. Different options and equipment can help put together a security system that works best.

There are many different types of alarm currently available. Some will produce a loud siren type noise upon unauthorized entry. Others go one step further and initiate a call to an alarm company who will then notify the authorities. There are many varieties of alarms ranging from motion sensors to those with cameras.

Alarm systems with cameras can allow a homeowner to see what is going on inside of their home in their absence. Many have programs that allow these cameras to be viewed remotely from different locations. Alarm companies may also be given access to this so that they can give authorities additional information about what is going on in the home.

Motion sensors and lights can be installed in areas outside of the home for additional protection. Lights with sensors will fill an area with light if motion is detected in the area. This additional security can be beneficial as well.

There are many options when researching and deciding on a good home security system. Make a list of specific concerns and needs. Knowing what is out there is the first step in finding the right one.The hits keep comin-: Home Security Alarm Levels

Well all want to protect our family, don-t we? Of course. And while a home security system is an important and effective way to keep you your family safe, you cannot expect the machine to do all the work. Your system must be tested regularly to ensure that it is working properly and to minimize false alarms. A test of your security system for errors should take place at least once every month. Below is an easy, step-by-step guide to testing your home security system. The full explanation can be found at http://www.homesecuritysystems.net/tough-economic-times-highlight-need-for-home-security-systems/

‘Inform your monitoring center of the testing.
‘Inform anyone in your house of the testing.
‘Make sure all doors and windows are closed.
‘Read through your manual for any system specific instructions on testing.
‘Find testing code in your owner-s manual and input it into your system.
‘Allow the test to run and locate any errors that may be present.

The test should alert you of any discrepancies with your system such as a failing burglar alarm battery, control panel problems, and sensor issues. Refer to your manual for instructions on how to fix any error that you may find. Remember to test your system regularly to ensure its success.

In my opinion, one of most important functions as a mom is to protect my children and family. This means different things at different times. As a stay at home mom, we spend countless hours of their childhood at home, exploring, creating, and making fun memories that will last a life time. Our home is a precious place. A retreat from the pressures of this world. In such, I want to not only protect my family but their home. This can be accomplished by purchasing a home security system.

One feature I love about modern home security systems is some come with an alarm that sounds when the door opens. Nothing overwhelming just a beep or chime. This is not an alarm that will alert the authorities but it will alert me as a stay at home mom when my three year old son exits the house. Previously, before I was a mom I worked as a nanny and the family I provided care for had this feature on their home security system. It came in handy several times. They had three children. One was an adventurous boy who thought it was fun to exit the house. The house was had a walk out basement he could unlock, a front door, back patio and side garage door entrance. It was impossible to monitor all exits while providing care for the newborn. Nonetheless, each and every time a door was opened the alarm went off.

Another great feature of modern security systems is the noise level alarm. This feature triggers is a window is broke. Not because the window itself was broken but it recognizes the sound of a breaking window and the alarm goes off. This would scare away an intruder during the action of them breaking in before they had a chance to enter and harm your family. At times with young kids the noise level alarm would sound. This was a great way to remind the children they were doing something inappropriate or were being too loud. This was not a part of the security design but was a great bonus feature.

Home security systems today offer the tradition peace of mind with some addition perks. Home security systems have helped me personally several times.
